Senior Nagaland official moots for steps to uplift teachers

Nagaland Parliamentary Secretary for School Education, Yitachu today urged the teaching community to take resolute step to certain height in their profession.

Addressing the State Level Teachers Day celebration here at the NBCC Convention Centre, Yitachu advised the teachers to maintain gender equity and social equality while dealing with the students and be watchful of cyber crime, sexual harassment, use of intoxicants, drug abuse, ragging which can be done away with counseling approaches but not through corporal punishment.

Appreciating the contribution of private school in producing good academic result with quality education by dealing with more elite students, he said that all parents cannot send their children to private schools.
 

Therefore he was of the view that government schools dealing with another set of students from economically poor background should not be overlooked.
