The six-day mega event, being held in Odisha for the fourth time, would be jointly organised by the Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University (SOAU) and Odisha State Softball Association.
Besides around 700 players, about 100 officials and delegates from different states would be participating in the championship, to be held at the SOAU stadium here, the organisers said here today.
The Senior National Softball championship was held in Odisha for the last time in 2008 at Cuttack, they said adding preparation for the event is in progress in full swing.
Kerala had won the prestigious national championship in 2011 both in men's and women's categories while Punjab had finished second in both finals held at Anantpur in Andhra Pradesh.
