With a view to keeping a check on criminal activities along inter-state border areas of Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, senior police functionaries from the three states have decided to coordinate their efforts in nabbing criminals.
Decisions such as setting up high-quality CCTV cameras and joint barricades by the three states were taken in a coordination meeting of senior police officers from Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan today.
The meeting, held at Sirsa, was chaired by Haryana Inspector General of Police Hisar Range (Haryana) Anil Rao and attended by Inspector General of Police Bikaner Range (Rajasthan) Girdhari Lal Sharma, Deputy Inspector General of Police Bathinda (Punjab) Manish Chawla and other senior police officers from these states.

It was also decided in the meeting to share and exchange the list of wanted criminals with each other and to nab them with coordinated efforts.
Speaking on this occasion, Anil Rao said that illegal arms were often used in crime thus police should keep a close vigil by setting up common barricades in the border areas.
"These steps will also prove beneficial in coming Panchayat elections (in Haryana)," he said.
The issue related to prevention of smuggling of narcotics and illegal liquor were also deliberated in details in the inter-state meeting.
It was also decided that high quality CCTV cameras would be installed on fuel pumps located near inter-state borders as well as at border 'nakas' (check barriers) so as to prevent any type of illegal activities.
