The Senior National Wrestling championships will be short on star power as the Olympic medallist duo of Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt has decided to give the prestigious meet a miss along with the host of other emerging stars.

While Sushil and Yogeshwar are yet to fully recover from their respective injuries, World Championships medallists, Amit Kumar Dahiya, Bajrang and Sandeep Yadav have also withdrawn from the championships, starting here tomorrow, due to different reasons.

Amit is down with fever, while Bajrang and Sandeep are suffering from minor niggles.

The 58th Senior Men Free Style and Greco Roman Style and 16th Female National Wrestling Championship is being organised by West Bengal Wrestling Association at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra from November 15-18.

In the women's competition, world championships bronze medallist Geeta Phogat, who has had an unforgettable year, and her sister Babita would be seen in action.

All the 28 affiliated state wrestling associations including Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) will be participating in this Championship.
