Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today praised former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his tireless efforts in improving the condition of tribals, while announcing a separate budget for the primitive tribes.

Celebrating the 91st birthday of Vajpayee in the remote Dohakatu village of the primitive tribes in Ramgarh district, Das said the former prime minister's work for the tribes were praiseworthy.

He said Vajpayee made a good image of politicians during his six decades of active political life.

Taking a piece of cake from a tribal student of the endangered Birhor tribe in the village as part of the celebrations, Das said the state has taken initiatives for their betterment and would prepare a separate budget for them in the forthcoming annual budget.
