Separatist groups today demanded complete ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Under a joint programme given by the pro-freedom leadership Syed Ali Geelani Sahab, Jinab Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq sahab and Jinab Mohammad Yasin Malik sahab, the people today supported and endorsed the resolution favoring the peaceful solution of Kashmir and Palestine issues according to the wishes and aspirations of the people," a statement issued by hardline Hurriyat Conference led by Geeliani said here.

The statement said the resolution demanded a "complete and strict ban" over the sale and consumption of liquor in the state.

It termed the reported establishment of Sainik and separate Pandit colonies as a "well planned conspiracy" against the Kashmiri people and the Muslim identity of the state.
