Septuagenarian dies of bee attack

A 70-year-old farmer died after being stung by a swarm of bees at a village in the district today, police said.

Raju, a resident of Theyvur, had tried to pull down a bee hive on a coconut tree at his farm with a stick, triggering the bee attack.

Post-mortem revealed that there were 70 sting marks on his body, police said.
