Septuagenarian murdered in her house

In what appears to be a murder for gain, a 78-year-old woman was found dead with her legs and hands tied, in her house in Perianaickenpalayam, on the outskirts today.

As the woman, Pankajam, who was staying alone, did not come out in the morning, the neighbours peeped through the window to find her lying on the floor, with limbs bound by a rope, police said.

Police rushed to the spot ad broke open the door and shifted the body.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a gold chain and bangles, worn by the woman were missing.
