Services beat Hyderabad by 5 wickets

Mumtaz Qadir and Rajat Paliwal scored half centuries as Services defeated Hyderabad by five wickets in a Group A Vijay Hazare cricket match here today.

Choosing to bat after winning the toss, Hyderabad posted 224 for seven in 50 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The home team then saw Services completing the task in 48.5 overs.

For Services, Azaruddin Bloch picked up three wickets for 34 runs.

While batting, Qadir scored his runs off 111 balls and hit five fours, while Paliwal faced 71 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and a six in the process.

Soumya Swain was unbeaten on 29 off 27 balls when the winning runs were hit.
 

For Hyderabad, batting down the order, Pagadala Naidu top-scored with a 47-ball 45, while Chama Milind made 42 off 46 deliveries to prop up the hosts towards the end after the top and middle order failed to deliver.
