Sesame oil drops on lack of buying support

Sesame oil prices dropped by Rs 200 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on lack of buying support from vanaspati millers.

Linseed oil in the non-edible section also eased on reduced offtake by consuming industries.

Traders said slackened buying support from vanaspati millers against adequate supply from producing regions that mainly pulled down sesame oil prices.

In the national capital, sesame mill delivery oil fell by Rs 200 to Rs 11,200 per quintal.

Among non-edible, linseed oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 7,600 per quintal.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Oilseeds: Mustardseed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.
 

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,120-1,340.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,600, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,900-1,950, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,300, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,290-1,370, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,375-1,475, Sunflower 6,300, Sesame Mill Delivery 11,200, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 7,450, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 7,200,Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,600, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,300, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,700, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,350, Rice Bran (phy) 3,800 and Coconut (per tin) 1,900-1,950.

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,600, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 9,500-9,600, Neem 5,300-5,400, Rice Bran 3,150-3,250 and Palm Fatty 3,200-3,300.

Oilcakes: Groundnut Dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (New) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175.
