Sesame oil slides on lack of demand

Barring a fall in sesame oil prices due to lack of demand, other edible and non-edible oils held steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today in thin trade.

Traders said besides lack of demand, adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on sesame oil prices.

In the national capital, sesame mill delivery oil fell by Rs 100 to Rs 8,500 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustard seed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,140-1,250.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,600, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,300-1,375, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,050, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,225-1,275, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,275-1,375, sesame mill delivery 8,500, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 6,750, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 6,450, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,200, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,250, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,200, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,000 and Coconut (per tin) 2,650-2,700.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,850, Castor 9,700-9,800, Neem 5,350-5,450.
