Sesame oil up on selective buying

In restricted activity, sesame oil rose by to Rs 50 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on selective buying.

However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said selective buying from retailers helped sesame oil prices to trade higher.

In the national capital, sesame mill delivery oil rose by Rs 50 to Rs 11,650 per quintal.

The following were today's quotations per quintal:

Oilseeds: Mustardseed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.

Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,120-1,340.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 7,600, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,900-1,950, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 7,450, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,290-1,370, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,375-1,475,Sunflower 6,300, Sesame Mill Delivery 11,650, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 7,500, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 7,250,Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 5,600, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 6,200, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,700, Palmolein (Kandla) 6,350, Rice Bran (phy) 3,800 and Coconut (per tin) 1,900-1,950.
 

Non-edible oils: Linseed 7,550, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 9,550-9,650, Neem 5,350-5,450, Rice Bran 3,150-3,250 and Palm Fatty 3,200-3,300.

Oilcakes: Groundnut Dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (New) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175.
