Popular children's TV show "Sesame Street" is introducing a new muppet called Julia who has autism.
The new character will make her debut on the show in April, reported Huffington Post.
Although Julia has already been added in digital and printed storybooks, the show's creators hope the new character will help children better understand playmates who have autism.

"It's tricky because autism is not one thing, because it is different for every single person who has autism," writer Christine Ferraro says.
Stacey Gordon, the puppeteer who will handle Julia and has a son with autism, says it would have been better had Julia been around years ago when he was "Sesame Street" age.
