Sessions court declines to grant bail to 15 workers

A sessions court today declined to grant bail to 15 workers of a popular store in the city who were arrested for allegedly attacking some workers of a nearby shop.

They were arrested for allegedly attacking workers of a nearby shop with logs on the midnight of July 20.

Two workers were injured and admitted to hospital.

Police arrested S.Saravana, R. Balamurugan and 13 others and they were remanded in judicial custody and lodged in Puzhal jail. They filed the bail pleas today.

The City Public Prosecutor Jegan opposed the bail petitions and submitted that investigation was at a preliminary stage and bail should not be granted.
 

Concurring with the submission, Principal Sessions Judge N.Authinathan rejected the bail applications.
