Senior BJP leader B C Khanduri today accused the Uttarakhand government of delaying the process of setting up of an army school in Rudraprayag and urged Chief Minister Harish Rawat to intervene in the matter.

The Pauri Garhwal MP in a letter to Rawat said that he had in January this year assured that an agreement would be sent to the Centre but till date nothing was sent.

He said that after the matter was raised in the Parliament, the Defence Minister gave approval in-principle to establish army school in Rudraprayag.

On several occasions, the Ministry of Defence has also urged the state government to sign an agreement but no positive step has been taken in this regard, the former Chief Minister said.

Khanduri urged the CM to personally take interest in the matter for the welfare of the people and to sign an agreement with the Ministry concerned.
