The 38-year-old actor will be seen playing a drummer challenged by excesses of wine, women and song, reported Variety.
The film also stars Ashley Judd, Ray Liotta and Joe Pantoliano.
"I am really excited to be working with this whole group. Looks like my teenage band practices are finally about to pay off," he said.
