Talking to reporters here, he said "nuclear power plant can be set up anywhere in India, including Kudankulam, but people's view should be respected in the matter".
He condemned the police firing against those who organised demonstrations and agitations against the nuclear power plant in Kudankulam.
He urged political parties to back the bill on reservation for dalits in promotions and assured to support the cause of the backward class people in the Parliament.
He appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to declare holiday on September 11th, the memorial day of Immanuel Sekaran, a dalit leader.
