Seven people were arrested in connection with the gunning down a 35-year-old man, Anand, over an old rivalry in village Karaur in Rohtak district, police said.
With these arrests, 16 cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery have been worked out, they claimed.
"All the accused had also a plan to kill six more people. Police have saved the life of these six people by arresting the accused from a room located at a deserted place near Suncity, Delhi road. The accused will be produced in court and further investigation is on," a Haryana Police spokesperson said here.
He said the arrested accused were identified as Vikas alias Bhadu 19, Vikas alias Bagga 20, Mohit 21, all from Rohtak district and Deepak 25, Sachin alias Shooter 19, Mohit alias Pehalwan 19 and Pradeep alias Poppy 19, all from Sonipat district.
The police claimed to have recovered six country made pistols (315 bore), two country made pistols with magazine, 11 live cartridges (315 bore) and five live cartridges 32 mm.

The spokesperson said the victim, Anand, had an old rivalry with Anil, the key conspirator and his other accomplices.
Anand, a resident of village Karaur was shot dead by unidentified persons on April 27, 2018 in village fields in Rohtak district. He was the youngest among seven brothers, four of whom had previously been shot dead in a gang rivalry that began in 2002.
The police had registered a case under various sections of the IPC against 20 persons.
"Initial investigation revealed that Anand's family was occupying the post of village sarpanch for many years. Anil Chhipi and his colleagues living in the village had an enmity with Anand's family, which resulted in bloodshed," the spokesperson said.
Over 20 cases of murder, attempt to murder have already been registered against Anil, who is undergoing life imprisonment in a murder case in Sunaria jail in Rohtak, the spokesperson added.
