Seven arrested in cheating case during SSC exam in UP

Four persons, including two government officials, have been arrested for allegedly facilitating cheating in Staff Selection Commission exam here along with three examinees, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a Special Task Force (STF) team arrested four gang members identified as Neeraj Khabada, Raj Singh, Janendra and Bijendra from Cant area here yesterday, STF Circle Officer (CO) Anit Kumar said.

While Neeraj, mastermind of the gang, is employed as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) with the Archaeological Survey of India, Raj is a police official, currently posted in CBI headquarters in Delhi, he said.

The four were arrested when they were facilitating the three examinees with the right answers in the SSC-LDC exam on WhatsApp.
 

The STF has also arrested the examinees identified as Manish, Narendra, who are residents of Sonepat and Delhi-based Vijay Kumar.

A case has been registered against the accused and efforts are on to nab other members of the gang, the CO said.
