A Nigerian and six others were arrested with foreign currency and drugs during police raids in different parts of the city.
On receiving a tip-off police laid a trap at Fillaur area and stopped a vehicle to check in which three persons were sitting. Six hundred grams of heroin, INR 70,000 and USD 7,000 was recovered from their possession, said SSP (Rural) Jaspreet Singh Sidhu.
The accused were identified as Rakesh Chandra Gogna, Somnath, both from Hoshiapur, and EJ who lived in Delhi, Sidhu told mediapersons here.

In the another incident, police arrested Ajit Singh and Mohammad Rashid, after intercepting a car in Kishangarh area, and 1.05 kg heroin and Rs 4 lakh cash were recovered from the duo, Sidhu said.
In last incident, Dharvindar Singh alias Mintu and Gurjit Singh alias Jeeta from Pachranga were arrested and police seized 1.35 kg heroin and Rs 1.2 lakh cash from them, the SSP said.
The accused were transporting the drug to Delhi, from where they were to deliver it to other states of the country. They have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Sidhu said, adding, further investigations are on.
