A local court here today awarded life imprisonment to seven persons, including a father-son duo, in a four-year-old murder case.
Additional District Judge Satya Prakash found the seven guilty of murdering Ravikanat Chaudhary, a bus operator, in his office at Meethapur bus stand in the capital on July 27, 2011.
Another person, Surendra Kumar Goswami, was injured in the attack.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 each on three and a sum of Rs 25,000 on four others.
The court directed that half of the fine amount would be paid to the wife or in her absence to the son of the murdered person and another half to the wife or in her absence the son of the injured person.
The bus operator Ravikanat Chaudhary was shot dead by a rival bus operator, his son and five associates because of rivalry.
