Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested five miscreants from near a bridge under Dehri police station area last night while they were planning to loot a trader, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Manu Maharaj said.
A country-made carbine, a pistol and five ammunitions were seized from their possession, he said.
Police arrested two more miscreantsfrom near Indrapuri barrage while they were speeding by in a card, Maharaj said, adding a musket rifle, a pistol, three country-made pistols and seven ammunitions were seized from them.
The arrested were wanted in a bank loot case in Aurangabad district and in another case of stealing a vehicle in Jharkhand's Gadhwa district among several cases, the SP said.
