Seven hectares of bhang cultivation destroyed in valley

Authorities have destroyed nearly seven hectares of bhang cultivation in Srinagar and Bandipora districts.

"A team of Excise Department destroyed bhang on 53 kanals (2.6 hectares) of land in the villages of Tangpore-Takanwari in Srinagar yesterday," officials said.

Another team destroyed bhang on 62 kanals (three hectares) of land in Markundal, Khuman and Punhwara villages of Bandipora district, they said.

The officials said bhang on one hectare of land was destroyed by the excise officials at Shaat Malooro village in Shopian district.
