Seven inter-state robbers held, Rs 1.5 cr booty seized

Rajasthan police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of robbers with the arrest of seven of its members and seized precious stones and gold worth Rs 1.5 cr from them.

Diamonds, precious stones and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.5 crore, which were robbed from a Jaipur jeweller on June 24 in Motidungari area, were recovered in a box from the robbers, Additional Commissioner of Police-Jaipur, Giriraj Meena said.

The gang was active in Karnataka, Kerala, Gujarat, West Bengal and Rajasthan, he said.

The racket's master mind Parvat Singh, Hamja Kunhi, Farooq, Prakash, Shrijeet, Abdul Satar and Mohammad Ali were nabbed during separate raids in Maharashtra and Karnataka, the ACP said.
 

In another incident, three burglars were arrested here and several electronic items and household goods were recovered from their possession, he said.

In a separate case, a 22-year-old youth was arrested in 10 incidents of robbery and theft in Sodala area.

Gold and silver jewelleries, mobiles and computers and were recovered from the youth, identified as Brijesh, he added.
