According to police, the occupants of the car were on their way to Delhi from Agra when the tractor moving ahead of the vehicle suddenly braked, leading to the collision.
The Santro caught fire and all the occupants -- three men, two women and as many children -- were killed.
Fire brigade personnel reached the spot but were unable to save any of the occupants, police said, adding that the tractor driver ran away from the spot.
Traffic on the highway remained blocked for hours due to the accident.
