Seven killed jeep-truck collision

Seven persons were today killed when the jeep in which they were travelling, collided with a truck in Dhangarwadi here on the Ahmednagar-Aurangabad road, police said.

The mishap took place in the wee hours around 2 AM when the driver of the jeep carrying the passengers lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the truck, killing all occupants on the spot, API Vinod Chavan, in-charge of MIDC police station, Ahmednagar told PTI.

All the victims were residents of Yawat village in Pune district and were on their way to Baba Sailani Dargah, a pilgrimage in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, police said.
 

The deceased were identified as Manohar Rambhau Gaikwad (45), Ankush Dinkar Nemane (45), Mubarak Abnas Tamboli (52), Balu Kiran Chavan (17), Swapnil Balu Chavan (17), Gokul Rambhau Gaikwad (40) and Arun Pandurang Shinde (36).

Further investigations are on.
