Seven men have looted one million Peso donation money from a gurdwara in the Philippines, prompting police to arrest a former guard.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera captured the armed men entering Khalsa Diwan gurdwara in Paco district on December 1, ABS-CBN News reported.

They were seen overpowering the security guards, shackling them and taking away their guns, the report said today.

The robbers took the donation box containing 1 million peso to a waiting car before fleeing. Authorities later found the getaway vehicle was rented by the robbers. Police have arrested a suspect, identified as a former security guard of the gurdwara.

James Kumar, president of the Khalsa Diwan Indian Sikh Temple, condemned the crime and appealed for the return of the 40-year-old donation box.
