Seven mountain climbers go missing in floods in China

Seven mountain trekkers were reported missing in floods in central China's Hubei Province.

Police in Changyang County launched search operations yesterday after receiving a call from the wife of one of the missing persons, complaining that they were trapped in a flood at Yerengu Valley in Gaojiayan Township.

Eighteen firefighters from the county's fire brigade started search operations to locate them, state-run Xinhua news agency reported today.
