Seven new cases of swine flu have been reported from the city in the last 24 hours, a senior health official said today.

"In the last 24 hours, we have received news of seven new cases of swine flu infection from different parts of the city," Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Moloy Dey said.

There were, however, no new cases of infection from other parts of the state in the same period, he said.

Two people had died in the state because of the disease on Wednesday.

"Though there is no separate measure taken to counter swine flu, we are keeping a tab on the situation," Dey added.
