The Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended Assistant Executive Engineer of Power Development Department and six others for remaining absent from duty in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Assistant Executive Engineer (PDD) Ramban, King Kumar has been placed under suspension with immediate effect for remaining absent from duty, an official spokesman said.
The salaries of two PDD Junior Engineers namely Kabal Singh and Parshotam Singh have been withheld with immediate effect, he said.
The other employees who were found absent included Assistant Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CAPD) Ghulam Rasool, Assistant Secretary Board of School Education Mohan Singh Jamwal, Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Ghulam Nabi Sheikh and Orderly CAPD Rahilla Begum, the spokesman said.
The officers were found absent during a surprise inspection yesterday by a special team lead by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Nawab Din deputed by Deputy Commissioner Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari.
The DC had formed the team after receiving complaints regarding disrupted and uneven supply of electricity in Ramban city and the adjoining areas.
