The customs today arrested seven passengers who had arrived on an Air India flight from Dubai via Hyderabd at the airport here and seized 4.2 kgs of gold, valued at Rs 1.14 crore, from their possession.
Principal commissioner of customs C Rajendiran said that the accused had hidden gold bars on their bodies.
It was the highest gold haul on a single day at Vizag airport since international flights started landing here, said an official.
