Seven persons allegedly involved in a robbery here were arrested and huge quantity of gold and silver jewellery and cash were seized from their possession, the police said here today.
The arrests were made during a joint raid conducted by Odisha and Andhra Pradesh police at Palkonda under Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh today and brought here along with the seized cash and jewellery, Rayagada Superintendent of Police K Siva Subramani said.
The robbery had taken place on November 11 on the house of a jeweller during which they had decamped with cash, gold and silver jewellery, he said.
During the raid, the police had seized Rs 5,80,000 in cash, 1,100 grams of gold and 50 kg silver ornaments from their possession.
All the seven allegedly involved in the heist belonged to Rayagada town, the SP said adding they were forwarded to the court.
