Seven suicides, highest in a single day in Ghaziabad, were reported today from different places of the city.
All the seven persons were found hanging from a ceiling fan at their residences in different parts of the city, police said.
An 18-year-old class 12 student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her residence in Shipra Suncity in Indirapuram area here.

"Her exam results were to be declared in the last week of this month," he said.
In another incident, a youth was found hanging from the ceiling fan at his residence in Lohia Nagar area.
The deceased was identified as Vikas (23), who worked with a factory. No suicide note was recovered from the spot and the matter is being probed, the officer said.
In a third case, Devendra (34), who stayed with his wife and two children in Nandgram area, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence.
With no suicide note found, a probe is on to ascertain the reason behind the death, the police officer said.
Another suicide was reported from Siyani Gate area of Ghaziabad where 22-year-old Papu ended his life by hanging from the ceiling fan at his residence in Noor Nagar area.
Papu's family members and neighbours were being interrogated to get some leads in the case, the officer said.
44-year-old Ajit, who lived with his family, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his residence in Kasim Vihar Colony of Loni area.
"Police has got to know that he allegedly committed suicide due to financial burden," the officer said.
The bodies of Suman (22), resident of Rampark area, and Kallu (45), of Naipura area, were found hanging from the ceiling fans at their residences in Loni area, the officer said.
All the bodies were sent for post mortem examination, and further probes are on into the cases, the officer said.
This is the highest-ever number of suicides recorded in a single day in Ghaziabad, he said.
