Seven wagons of a goods train carrying wheat got derailed from the railway track in Firozabad this morning, an official said.
Though no loss of lives was reported, rail traffic was disrupted for nearly two hours, he added.
"Seven wagons of a goods trains carrying wheat from Butari (loop line in Firozabad railway station) to Midnapore, derailed from the railway track. The incident took place at around 9.15 AM. Rail technicians and officials reached the spot and removed the wagons. At 11.06 AM Delhi-Lucknow Shatabdi crossed from there," PRO of North-Central Railway Amit Malviya said.
He said the derailment had affected rail traffic and nearly eight trains departed two hours late. Normal traffic resumed after 12.00 noon, he said.
"No loss of life or property took place in the incident. A probe has been ordered, and possible reasons which led to the derailment are being ascertained," he said.
