Seven-year-old girl's testimony gets justice to her mother

A seven-year-old girl's testimony before a court in Bihar's Katihar district has clinched conviction of her father to life imprisonment in the murder case of his wife two years ago.

Appearing before the Fast Track Court (FTC)-I judge Harindra Nath, seven-year-old girl Mansi Kumar gave an eyewitness account of her father Satyanarayan Yadav setting her mother Lakhi Devi on fire in Raghunathpur village under Barsoi police station area on October 20, 2011, following an argument between the couple.

Taking the little girl's testimony, the court found the accused guilty in the murder case of his wife and awarded life imprisonment to him.
 

"The victim's daughter was among 10 witnesses in the said murder case," the Additional Public Prosecutor Ramesh Kumar Jaiswal said.
