A seven-year-old girl fell into a deep borewell when she was playing near Aravakurichi in Karur district, 120 km from here today, police said.
The mishap occurred while the girl was playing in a farm at Inagannur village this morning.
Fire and rescue service personnel, along with police, are engaged in efforts to rescue the girl whose parents are agricultural labourers.
