Union minister of State for Labour Suresh Kodikunnil today said the Central government had launched a number of schemes for uplift of labourers.
Describing labourers as real strength of the country, he said "a wide range of schemes are being run by the Central government for their uplift."
Speaking at a function at the UPCC headquarters, the minister gave a detailed account of works, undertaken by the Centre, for rehablitation and development of labourers.
A large number of party leaders and workers, including former minister Ramkrishna Dwivedi, were present on the occasion.
