Police busted a sex racket being run from a posh residential locality here Thursday evening and rescued five women, four of them from Bangladesh, an official said.
Two women pimps were arrested in connection with the racket, said Ravindra Daundkar, senior inspector of the Thane police's Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC).
The racket came to light after a team of officials from AHTC raided the locality in Manpada area, he said.
The team rescued five women, including four Bangladeshi nationals, during the raid, Daundkar said.
An offence was registered against the accused under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA), he added.
