Seventeen persons were arrested from a flat in south Kolkata's Netaji Nagar area for allegedly running a sex racket, the police said today.

Seven women, including the owner, the manager and five others working as sex workers and ten men were arrested by a team of the Kolkata Police from a flat on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road during a raid late last night, a senior police officer said.

"The accused were running this sleaze racket behind the veil of an office. We had specific information that something was wrong there and so this raid was conducted," the officer said.

Six customers and four touts were also arrested during the raid, he said.
