With the arrest of seven women and a man from New Sodhi Nagar here, police today claimed to have busted a flesh trade racket.
SP Harjit Singh Pannu said they had received information that a sex racket was allegedly being run from a house owned by a woman identified as Darshna Rani.
A team of police officials conducted a raid at her house yesterday and arrested seven women, including Darshna and a man identified as Kulwinder Singh.

The arrested women are in the age group of 30-33 years and belong to places like Sidhwan Bet, Mari Mustfa, Dadahoor, New Ata Nagar Jagraon, Jalalabad East, Malsian Bijan (Sidhwan Bet) and Galhoti of Punjab, they said.
A case under provisions of Immoral Traffic (Preventive) Act, 1956 was registered against the eight accused, he said.
