Sexual assault agitation spreads to other Ashok hall schools

The agitation of guardians against GD Birla Centre of Education authorities for the alleged sexual harrassment of a child, today spread to other Ashok Hall group schools.

Today, there were reports that guradians of Ashok Hall Girls' Higher Secondary School and Mahadevi Birla Sishu Vihar along with G.D Birla Centre for Education held protests.

Parents protested demanding scrapping the proposed event 'Spectrum' slated to be held early next year.

Sources said there had been complaints in other group schools and petitions are been received to know the parents' view and in next few days the management will take a final view on Spectrum.
 

"Spectrum is not a single school subject. The event is for Ashok Hall group of schools. The mangement will take a call for all the group of schools," a mangement official said decling to be quoted.

G D Birla issued a statement later during the day accepting that a Lower Infant student parent had complained of a sexual abuse.

An agitated G D Birla parent said when we demanded security assurance for spectrum, the vice-principal of the school instead attempting to pacify, threatened with transfer certificate.

Education minister Partha Chatterjee today said beside asking police to take a report, "I have also asked the education department to file a report.
