Students Federation of India (SFI) activists, during their state-wide protest here against police lathicharge on them, offered flowers to cops in a show of 'Gandhigiri' today.
During their protest-demonstration at Moulali in the central part of the city, some activists handed flowers to the policemen present on the spot.
The activists set up road blocks at some important crossings in the city and across the state to protest against yesterday's police lathicharge on them during a law-violation programme to mark the second death anniversary of Sudipto Gupta, former leader of the SFI, CPI-M's student organisation.

Besides Moulali, road blocks were set up at Shyambazar, Jadavpur and Howrah bridge, throwing traffic out of gear for some time.
Special Additional CP and Joint CP HQ Rajeev Mishra said that no untoward incident had happened during the SFI protest in the city.
The SFI workers burnt effigy of chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
There was a scuffle between SFI workers and the police at Madhyamgram in North 24-Paragana district.
SFI workers also staged protests in other places in the state including Siliguri, Durgapur, Behrampur and Barrackpore.
Criticising yesterday's incident, CPI-M Rajya Sabha MP Ritabrata Banerjee alleged that the TMC government was using the police as its force.
He said that 61 SFI activists were injured in yesterday's lathicharge.
