SFI demonstrates against attack on Sarabjit in Pak jail

Students Federation of India, the CPI(M)'s student wing, today held protest demonstrations here against the Pakistani government over the brutal attack on death row convict Sarabjit Singh in a Lahore jail and demanded diplomatic efforts to release him.

The SFI activists, raised their voice over the deteriorating health conditions of Sarabjit, who was being attacked by six fellow prisoners in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail on Friday. He is in deep coma and on ventilator support in Jinnah Hospital.

"Pakistan government is solely responsible for the attack on Sarabjit and we demand from the Centre all possible efforts to save his life and get him released from the country," SFI district vice-president Dinesh Jakhar told reporters here.
