SFI march turns violent, four policemen injured

: A protest march by Students Federation of India (SFI) activists here today condemning the 'delay' in distribution of textbooks to school students in the state turned violent leaving four police personnel injured.

Police said that FIRs have been registered against 200 volunteers, including women, for indulging in violence.

The protestors tried to break the barricades put up by police near the office office of the Deputy Director of Education, leading to a clash between them and police.

Police used water cannon and teargas shells to disperse the mob. Vehicular traffic in the city was disrupted for some time.
