SGPC extends help to families of youths stuck in Iraq

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee today extended help by providing cheques of Rs 50,000 to the families of 19 youths who are stuck in trouble-torn Iraq.

SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar here distributed cheques of Rs 50,000 to the families of each of the nineteen youths stuck in trouble-torn Iraq where they had gone for greener pastures, SGPC said in a statement.

The total amount distributed by SGPC to nineteen families were Rs 20 lakh, it said, adding that all the families are inhabitants of different villages of Amritsar.

Makkar said the SGPC would extend all possible help to families of the youths in any circumstance.
