Hardline outfit Dal Khalsa today said a probe by the SGPC into the clash inside the Golden Temple premises while observing the 30th anniversary of Operation Bluestar will have no relevance it was "preposterous" to expect a genuine inquiry from the Sikh body.

Party's senior leaders, Satnam Singh Paonta Sahib and Kanwar Pal Singh, said, "the clash was a result of simmering discontent between two political adversaries having divergent ideologies."

Taking a dig at Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee for holding a probe into the incident, they said, "the inquiry by the SGPC will have no relevance and credibility, as it will be preposterous to expect a transparent probe from the Sikh body whose role itself is under scanner."

"If at all there was any need, then it should be independent of the SGPC and secondly it should be headed by Justice (retd) Kuldeep Singh," they said.
