A decision of this effect has been taken at the meeting of executive committee of SGPC held here today.

SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar told reporters that Guru Nanak Dev, first Sikh guru, had stayed on the bank of river Shipra near Dutt Akhada in Ujjain.

A gurdwara already existed at that place but it is too small. SGPC has purchased the adjoining land and will set up bigger building, guest house, office complex, he said.

Guru Nanak stayed on the bank of Shipra and performed prayers under a tree which is situated in the campus, he said.
