Press Trust of India Fatehgarh Sahib (Pb)
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Prof Kirpal Singh Badungar today said the apex religious body of the Sikhs is ready to maintain Gurdwaras in Pakistan.

"There are reports that condition of some shrines in Pakistan is not good so the SGPC is ready to extend any type of help to maintain the Gurdwaras," he told reporters here.

On sending Sikh Jathas to Pakistan, Badungar said the SGPC has been sending these to the neighbouring country from a long time.

"This time again the Jathas will visit Pakistan, even in the situation when relations between the two countries are not cordial," he said.

He said the SGPC invites applications from pilgrims from time-to-time who want to pay obeisance in Gurdwaras in Pakistan.

He said after scrutiny by Indian government agencies the visa is granted to pilgrims.
