In a change-over of role for 'Shabdo'-man Ritwik Chakraborty, the versatile actor will now be cast in the psycho-thriller 'Teen Patti' as a card gambler.

"From a folie artiste in Kaushik Ganguly's 'Shabdo' to a cameo who plays the protagonist's friend in 'Apur Panchali' and 'Phoring', Ritwik had projected roles in one particular genre of films may be in recent times, director Jenny told PTI here.

"Here he is essaying the role of a plotter, having linked to six murders and who himself falls prey to bullets one day," Jenny said here.

"Never been part of a thriller co-starring with Indraneil (Sengupta) and Puja Bose in masala genre. An actor should do all types of roles. Tinpatti gave me the chance," Ritwik, the protagonist in festival award-winning Bakita Byaktigato said.

Having asked the directors at the outset if Tinpatti story line has any parallels with Hindi-English action flick Race 2, 'Autograph' actor Indraneil Sengupta found the story line very unlike typical Bengali flicks.

"It is sleek and contemporary and in sync with the present change-over of Tollywood."

"Actually it is a romantic, 'logical' thriller where card games play a part but it is not a remake or reinventing of the Hindi potboiler Tinpatti having Big B in the cast, Dipayan, of the Jenny-Dipayan director duo said at the music launch.

Having the score of popular Bengali music director Indradeep dasgupta, RDS Entertainment-produced Teen Patti will be released this month.
