The Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid in Delhi has alleged that the Samajwadi Party failed to live up to its pre-election promises of taking steps to uplift Muslims.

"Samajwadi Party has not fulfilled its pre-election promises. They had promised jobs for Muslim youths, but our youths are still unemployed," Shahi Imam Ahmad Bukhari told reporters yesterday.

He claimed that the party had promised to post Muslim staff in every police station, but it was not done.
